I took some pictures this morning of my front and back yard and the flowers that are blooming. It's a gloomy day today, I wish it was sunnier so the colors would pop more. But, I can't control the weather, so this is what you get. Smiling

* These are my gerbera daisies. They've done really well this spring, they keep blooming. There are a few buds getting ready to bloom right now. This planter is on one of the bends on my front walkway.

*These roses are in the planter area between my garage and front door. Last year they didn't do well, but I did a lot of trimming earlier this spring and it's really exploded with flowers this year.

*These are knockout roses. They go around my oak trees in the front yard, but face the house. I wish the color in the picture was better today, they have really pretty coral, orange and pink flowers. (I need to redo the rocks bordering the area.)

*This is a more classic looking rose. Right now this plant only has two flowers on it, but it gives me hope for next year. I just need to remember to prune, prune, prune! This is in the same area around the oak trees, it faces the street.

*This is a wider view of the roses facing the street around the oak trees.

*These are the three miniature roses that have bloomed so far on the bush. There are TONS of buds getting ready to bloom. Hopefully they're just a few sunny days away. They start out a really vibrant pink when they are first opening, and end up being almost white before they fall off.

*This is a view of the whole front yard. The oak trees sit close to the street on the right of the yard. Under the window on the right side there is a bush with two hibiscus plants on each side. They've been shooting up really fast, and they'll have large dark pink flowers when they bloom. My husband and I planted the tree in the planter area on the left last summer. I'm so happy to see that it's doing well this year. Hopefully it will provide a lot of shade for the house as it gets bigger.

*Finally, this is a little area on my back deck. SweetPea couldn't stay out of the picture. On the left on the deck are two miniature rose plants and then some white flowers I don't remember the name of. On the right side on the deck is a pot with tulips (which didn't bloom this year... so far... that's wishful thinking for you!) and it also has strawberries growing in it. Well, the leaves, but no blooms or actual strawberries. And I don't know the names for any of the flowers along the top, I got them all because they were different shades of purple and I wanted color out there. We had a stormy night a few nights ago, and it kind of beat them all up. I don't know if they'll come back, but I'll keep them there until I'm sure they're dead. (Again, wishful thinking!!) I didn't get a picture of it, but I planted some jasmine this year off of the deck and I'm hoping it will grow up through the lattice.
