My husband and I weren't able to go back to Finland or Canada for Christmas this year so this will be our first Christmas in Norway by ourselves. Since we did not want to spend a whole lot of money on Christmas decorations, I used a lot of things that I already had and took the scissors and the glue out to make some decorations myself and bring some Christmas spirit into our home.
Happy Holidays!

Christmas lantern, a Scandinavian tradition.
Poinsettia, a tradition in my family.
Gingerbread flavored toffee - I put bowls of candies everywhere in the apartment to make it more festive.
I think I hadn't made paper snowflakes in about 20 years.
Chocolate cake, crème caramel and cinnamon bun scented candles add to the ambiance.
Since Christmas trees are very expensive in Norway, we opted for a small one and I put it on top of two red placemats I already had.
I used some old paper bags and envelopes to make a garland that I placed on top of the TV.
Hearts and stars are very present in Scandinavian Christmas decorations.
I used some Christmasy socks that a friend gave me and put them on a wall.
This Christmas light fixture is a tradition in the Nordic countries.
I took some paper and some markers to make eyes and a red nose for my reindeer coat hanger.
Homemade Rudolph.
I took out all my festive scarves from my wardrobe and put them on the coat hanger in the entrance to add a touch of color.
A touch of Christmas even in the bathroom.

Great job, Finn! We have the same TP.
1It all looks lovely! Amazing what you can find around the house to use as decor. You give Martha Stewart some competition in that department
