I bought this plant a couple of weeks ago because it was so pretty. I love the salmon-colored center of the leaves. It didn't have a tag, so I don't know the name. In the center, it appears to have a blooming thing that looks as if it has pea-like things on it. I couldn't get a good picture because it's still too short!

That's not what they call a corn plant is it?
1Redhot--I don't know-
2haha I don't have a clue!
3Too bad I couldn't make this a question for points! It's driving me crazy not to know!
4It could be a Guzmania
5It's leaves feel less rigid, so I'm not sure!
6I'm not sure either, but I have one just like it. Ha! I guess that makes two of us who don't know, but I am going to look it up by the picture in one of my flower books, and maybe I will be able to find out what it is called.
7I posted a picture of it on a plant identification forum and they said that it's a Chlorophytum orchidastrum. You can read more about it here http://www.houseofplants.co.uk/Chlorophytum_orchidastrum.htm
8It's also known as Copper Sierra Leon Lilly. Hope that helps.
94Byrds, you are a lifesaver. I'm so happy to know what it is. Now I can care for it better! Thanks so much! This is why I love the sugar network!
10Finally! I could not wait for someone to tell you so I could find out too.
11Mominator, I'm so relieved.
